Rodney Goodman retired from the Abilene Fire Department in 2021 after a distinguished 35-year career. Currently, he serves as the Finance and Facilities Director for the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature. A graduate of ACU with a Bachelor's in Accounting, Rodney brings a wealth of financial expertise to his roles.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Rodney is deeply committed to public service. He serves as the Plan Administrator for the Abilene Firemen’s Relief & Retirement Fund, where he previously held positions as board Chairman and Trustee for 26 years. Furthermore, Rodney dedicates his time and leadership as an Abilene ISD Trustee.

With a passion for serving the public, Rodney sees the Abilene Police Foundation as an opportunity to continue his legacy of community service and utilize his extensive experience for the betterment of Abilene.
