RANDY SPIVA, BOARD MEMBER

At the end of 2019, Randy Spiva retired after 28 years managing clients’ oil and gas interests at First Financial Trust Company. His wife, Kay, continues to work as a Realtor.

Deeply rooted in Abilene, both Randy and Kay grew up there, with Kay graduating from Cooper and Randy from Abilene High. They moved back to Abilene from Houston in 1986 after pursuing other career paths. Their daughter, Sabrina, and her husband, Ben, reside in Oklahoma City with their granddaughter, Chloe.

Randy and Kay are committed to serving the city they love. Randy currently serves on the Board of the Volunteer Services Council at Abilene State Supported Living Center and previously served on the Board of Noah Project. He has held various positions at First Christian Church, including Board Chair, Chairman of the Trustees, and Chair of the Finance Committee, as well as serving as an Elder and Deacon. Kay has been active on numerous boards and civic organizations in Abilene. Together, they participated in Leadership Abilene and the Citizens Police Academy and served as Honorary Commanders at Dyess until being promoted to Golden Eagles.

Upon retirement, Randy knew he wanted to continue serving in civic organizations. He became aware of the APF when he and Kay attended a reception for the finalists for the position of Abilene’s Chief of Police. Impressed by APF’s mission, Randy contacted Joy Ellinger and expressed interest in serving. Enthusiastically, he joined the board in 2021.
